In ‘groundbreaking’ news this month, The Devil Wears Prada is set for a sequel with stars Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt reprising their iconic roles!

Streep and Blunt are set to return as Runway editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly and her assistant Emily Charlton, respectively, in the sequel to the 2006 hit, and an insider has revealed just how the reunion came to be.

Talking to Life & Style, a source shared, “The movie has become a classic, and while most of the cast were in agreement that it should be left alone, they’re all on board now.”

“Meryl’s involvement, as well as that of the original producer (Wendy Finerman) and screenwriter (Aline Brosh McKenna) is what really sealed the deal,” the insider also claimed.

While Streep and Blunt are said to be returning, it has not been confirmed whether Anne Hathaway will reprise her role as Andy Sachs. However, 41-year-old Hathaway did share where she thinks Sachs might be all these years on.

Hathaway once shared, “I think Andy is in Paris and she is writing for a wonderful French women’s magazine. I think she’s a staff writer and she can speak French fluently. And I don’t think she’s married, but she might have a child or two. I think she’s pretty fab.”
