Meghan Markle's rumored plans to release a book about her time in the Royal Family have sparked warnings of consequences similar to those faced by Princess Diana.

According to filmmaker Ulrike Grunewald, who is working on a documentary about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duchess's book may ultimately harm her own reputation rather than the Royal Family by releasing a book.

Grunewald drew parallels with Princess Diana's Panorama interview, which were intended to expose the Royal Family's secrets but ultimately backfired.

"We know that Meghan kept a diary during her days in Great Britain but if she writes a book about it will people believe what she is telling?" he told the express.

Grunewald went on to express, "I remember vividly the impact of Princess Diana‘s [book and] Panorama interview in 1995. It did more harm to her than to the Royal Family in the end. It is still the same: the most damaging allegations can only come from within."

Ulrike Grunewald comments come as speculation grows about the contents of Meghan's book, which is rumored to include intimate details about her time in the Palace and her relationships with Royal Family members.
