Angelina Jolie, who is in the middle of a messy divorce battle with ex-husband Brad Pitt, disclosed some shocking revelations about her life.Â
The Wanted actress had planned her own murder in 2001 while struggling with suicidal thoughts.Â
"This is going to sound insane, but there was a time I was going to hire somebody to kill me,â the Mr and Mrs Smith star told IMDB.
In an interview with The Face in 2003, Jolie claimed that finding a hitman in New York City wasn't tough at all.Â
âI was very aware that so many people around me, like my mother, would feel as though they didnât give enough or do enough, if Iâd taken my own life. So my solution to that was if someone else had taken my life â like in a ârobberyâ â then it would be murder and it wouldnât be that anyone would feel theyâd let me down,â she said.Â
The hitman therefore gave an ultimate response to her, asking if he could think about it and call her back in two months. Following this she added, âSomething changed in my life and I figured Iâd stick it out.â
Reflecting on her dark times, Jolie sat for a chat with 60 Minutes in 2011, "I didn't die young, so Iâm very lucky. There are other artists and people who didnât survive certain things.â
