Veteran actress Sakina Samo is not happy with the choice of civil honor holders this Pakistan Day.
Speaking to Express Tribune in a recent interview, the 61-year-old iterated how there are many unsung actors who were left out for the recognition.
“I personally believe the choice for Pride of Performance is becoming increasingly simple and easy and as a result, a number of personalities who have dedicated their entire careers often go unnoticed,” mentioned Samo.
Some important achievers for the night included Humayun Saeed, Resham and Sakina Samo and singer Ali Zafar for Pride of Performance. Bushra Ansari and Zeba Shahnaz received the Sitara-i-Imtiaz while Abida Parveen was honoured with Nishan-i-Imtiaz.
Sakina believes that celebrities like Ali Zafar and Resham did not deserve their respective titles. She instead highlighted the work of actress Uzma Gillani in her interview.
“It is sad that the government has given such a huge award to people like Resham and Ali Zafar, who in my opinion don’t really deserve it,” said Sakina.
