Jennifer Lopez has hinted at Ben Affleck being a “lesson for her mistakes.”
In a brand new chat with comedian Nikki Glaser for Interview Magazine, she made a plethora of confessions while discussing her arrival at new levels of wisdom as life throws one thing after another.
She said, “There’s times when I thought I figured it out, and then life goes, ‘Let’s send you another thing and see if you fall for it. Let’s see if you really have learned that lesson.’ And I hadn’t.”
“When your whole house blows up, you’re standing there in the rubble going, ‘How do I not ever let that happen again?’ And then you start examining it little by little,” the vocalist added.
Then, she seemingly sighted her relationship with Ben Affleck for reference.
Jennifer Lopez explained, “You say, ‘Okay, I did this, this was my part in it, this was what I should have seen early on, this is what I didn’t look at.’ Those things are what really are the lessons.”
Having filed for her fourth marriage divorce just recently this year, the singer was possibly talking about the teachings she got from tying the knot four times and yet “not learning the lesson.”
Perhaps her wedding with Ben Affleck was the one that finally clarified things for her.
Jennifer Lopez noted that after the release of her documentary This Is Me... Now: A Love Story, she thought of having conquered it all when it came to her relationships and career.
But, then, things shook up and the entire tree house turned upside down.
“With This Is Me… Now, I felt like, whoa, I got here. I’m good. I did all the work and look at where I am, and then it was like my whole fucking world exploded,” the star exclaimed.
While Jennifer Lopez has apparently learnt a lot from Ben Affleck and the two have gone on to part ways legally, their relationship doesn’t seem to be just over yet because of the public PDA in check.
Her indirect comment on the actor might mean they’re either working it out or have simply stepped away from their romance forever.
