Prince William follows in Queen Elizabeth's footsteps to 'prepare' for kingship

Prince William, the elder son of King Charles III and Diana, is now first in line to the throne

Prince William is taking cues from his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II as he prepares to ascend to the throne.

According to sources, the Prince of Wales is determined to maintain the historic "special relationship" between the United States and Britain ahead of his reign, just like late Queen did.

They further stated that Prince William's emerging connection with President Trump is the "key" to making that possible.

"For William, this is part of his preparation for kingship," Shannon Felton Spence, a former British public affairs official, told Fox News Digital.

She continuyed, "It is a test of his ability to engage with world leaders he may not personally align with, to navigate egos and expectations, and to ensure that Britain remains at the center of global power dynamics."

"The queen did this for 70 years. Now, it’s his turn," Shannon added.

In December, Prince William met with Trump in Paris when the two attended the reopening of the Notre Dame cathedral following its devastating fire.

Prince William, the elder son of King Charles III and Diana, is now first in line to the throne.
