Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has to Spain to finalize a loan deal that will see him play for Barcelona for the upcoming season.
The player landed in Catalonia on Sunday nigh after receiving approval from United to proceed with the necessary steps for the transfer.
He will join Barcelona on a one-year loan and after that year, Barcelona will have the choice to permanently buy him if they want.
Rashford has long seen Barcelona as his preferred destination, especially after he hinted in December that he was ready for a new challenge, following his exclusion from the starting lineup by manager Ruben Amorim.
Earlier this summer, Barcelona seemed close to signing Spanish winger Nico Williams but he instead chose to stay with Athletic Bilbao by signing a new 10-year-contract.
The move will be Rashford's second consecutive loan spell after he spent the last six months of the previous season playing on loan at Aston Villa.
As per the reports, Rashford has now passed a medical at Barcelona and he will be presented to the media on Wednesday.
He will now join the team on their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea starting this Thursday.
Earlier, Barchelona's sporting director Deco has publicly expressed his admiration for Rashford as well as for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz.
However, as the club has already made major signings like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumothe, they are still facing financial problems which might make it difficult for them to afford the high transfer fee.
On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly told his new manager Jorge Jesus and the club's officials that Liverpool’s Diaz is the player he wants most to play on the wing.
Reports further suggested that Bayern Munich tried to sign him by offering €58.5 million but Liverpool quickly rejected that offer.
According to SPORT, Al-Nassr is the only club currently willing to pay the amount Liverpool is asking for Diaz.
