Malcolm-Jamal Warner has passed away at the age of 54 in Costa Rica during a family vacation.
According to sources, The Resident actor drowned while swimming.
Malcolm rose to fame for his portrayal of Theodore Huxtable – the only son of Bill Cosby's character – in The Cosby Show from 1984 to 1992.
Back in 2013, Malcolm expressed his pride in being part of the renowned sitcom, noting, "I know I can speak for all the cast when I say The Cosby Show is something that we are all still very proud of."
He also acknowledged the stain the legacy obtained after Bill was accused of sexual assault and was later convicted of the crimes in 2018; however, in 2021, the charge was overturned, followed by five more women accusing of sexual assault.
"Regardless of how some people may feel about the show now, I'm still proud of the legacy and having been a part of such an iconic show that had such a profound impact on – first and foremost, Black culture – but also American culture," Malcolm shared.
Aside from The Cosby Show, Malcolm-Jamal Warner joined Eddie Griffin to lead the sitcom Malcolm & Eddie from 1996 to 2000.
He was also well known for his role as Alex Reed on Reed Between the Lines, which he starred in alongside Tracee Ellis Ross from 2011 to 2015.
