The United States has witnessed the lowest number of mass killings in 2025 in two decades, according to a database tracking such incidents.

Last year recorded the lowest number of mass shootings since 2019, before the increase in America’s gun violence during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the total number of mass shootings in 2024 surpassed the totals recorded in any year from 2013 to 2019. Read the full breakdown from 2024.

As of December 15, there have been 393 shooting attacks in the 2025, resulting over 315 deaths and more than 1,600 injuries.

Here is the list of top 10 mass shooting attacks in the Unites States in the year 2025. 

Leland shooting:

A shooting occurred after a high school football game in Leland, Mississippi, in October, leaving 7 people dead and 18 injured. The incident is still under investigation, with multiple suspects in custody.

Midtown Manhattan shooting:

A mass shooting at 345 Park Avenue in New York City on July 28, killed 5 people, including a police officer, and injured several others. The suspect was taken into custody.

Brown University shooting:

Another fatal shooting attack happened at Brown University's engineering school in Providence, Rhode Island, on December 13.  

Two students were killed while 9 others got injured. 

Saint Helena Island shooting:

A shooting at a bar on Saint Helena Island, South Carolina, killed 4 people and injured 15 in October. The incident is under investigation.

Grand Blanc township church attack:

A shooting at a Mormon church in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, in Sepetember left 3 people dead and 5 injured. 

The suspect, who was motivated by “anti-religious beliefs” against The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was arrested.

New Orleans truck attack:

On the first day of the year, January 1, a man drove a rented truck into pedestrians on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. 

14 people were killed and several dozen were injured in the incident. The incident is being investigated as a terrorist attack.

Lexington shootings:

A shooting spree in Lexington, Kentucky, killed 3 people, including a state trooper, and injured several others. The suspect was taken into custody.

Anaconda shooting:

A shooting at a bar in Anaconda, Montana, killed 4 people. The incident is under investigation.

North Codorus Township shooting:

A shooting at a farmhouse in North Codorus Township, Pennsylvania, killed 4 police officers and injured 2. The suspect was killed in a shootout.

Florida State University shooting:

A shooting at Florida State University killed 2 people and injured 6. The suspect was arrested.
