Lamar Odom has revealed his own afterlife experience in Netflix's Untold trailer.

The former Lakers star opened up about his 2015 overdose in the upcoming film The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, premiering on Netflix March 31.

"I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks. That's not no average sh---," Odom said.

His ex, Khloe Kardashian, also sat down to share her experience of the years when he was parting amid the Lakers' career in the trailer.

Kardashian, who tied the knot with Odom in 2009 before the 2013 separation, recalls in the trailer how her ex-husband "would escape rehab" and "go on a drug bender".

"That first hit of cocaine was amazing," Odom said in the trailer, admitting it led him to "unlock a vault" he could not "really control".

The former basketball star, who had not played in the NBA for two seasons at the time of his overdose, said he felt "embarrassment" about his drug abuse.

At the end of the trailer, Odom noted, "The afterlife is not what people make it out to be."

The Untold episode is helmed by Ryan Duffy, and Odom's story is the first of four stories coming to Netflix in March and April.

Lamar Odom was admitted into rehab in January after being arrested for DUI.

His manager, Gina Rodriguez, said Odom sought treatment specifically for marijuana use, fearing it could trigger a relapse into more harmful substances.
