Veteran television actress Jessie Jones has tragically passed away. She was 75!
On Tuesday, March 31, Deadline reported that the deceased actress's writing partner, Jamie Wooten, announced her death on behalf of her family.
In his somber statement, he revealed that the Murphy Brown actress had died on March 20 in Washington, D.C.
Jones, known for her performing craft in the prolific comedy, died after her brief illness with an undisclosed form of chronic disease.
For those unaware, the popular television actress was also known for her passion for playwrighting, as she gained fame with her first project, Dearly Departed.
According to media reports, the late actress, who was born on August 21, 1950, in the Texas Panhandle, wrote a few episodes of the Warner Bros sitcom, For Your Love.
She also wrote a handful of instalments of the beloved children's series, Teacher's Pet, which starred Nathan Lane in the leading role.
To build her playwrighting career, she later teamed up with her friends, including Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten.
In collaboration with her pals, she later announced her Southern-flavoured comedies, The Sweet Delilah Swim Club, The Red Velvet Cake War and Christmas Belles.
So far, Jessie Jones' funeral has yet to be announced by her family members.
