Prince Harry has been pictured in public after hopes of a reconciliation with his father, King Charles III, were reportedly dashed.
The Duke of Sussex appeared in Washington, D.C., speaking at the IAPP Global Summit about the digital world and joining a conversation with Joe Jones, as news emerged that King Charles III will visit the U.S. capital next month.
The IAPP Global Summit is described as the "world’s largest annual gathering of digital responsibility professionals, attracting top experts in privacy, AI governance and cybersecurity law."
Harry’s summit appearance came after it was confirmed he won’t reunite with his father, King Charles III, during the King and Queen Camilla’s U.S. visit next month for the 250th American independence anniversary.
A source confirmed the California-based royal won’t travel to D.C. for a reunion.
Harry last saw his father in September during a “private tea” at Clarence House.
A source told HELLO! at that time, “"I don't think he's [Harry] completely dropped the idea of feeling that he has been wronged in certain ways by the institution, but he would rather the opportunity for reconciliation."
They added, "With the passing of time, everything softens, especially when close family members are ill; that focuses the mind somewhat. He's willing to be a bit more at peace with things, rather than battling constantly. It's taken its toll."
Notably, the Duke won’t visit D.C. while his father is in town, following reports that he hoped to spend “family time” with the King in Norfolk later this year with Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet, according to The Times.
