Lizzo recently faced a major blow as a potential juror after she was dismissed in the assault trial.

The 37-year-old singer was reportedly summoned for jury service at the United States Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles, on Wednesday, April 1.

However, Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson ,was eventually excused from the case.

As reported by Daily Mail, it was revealed by Brittny Mejia, a reporter for The Los Angeles Times, who posted on her X account.

She tweeted, "Apparently @lizzo was a potential juror for an assault on a federal officer case I'm covering in federal court downtown. (She was struck from the jury by prosecutors). So L.A."

The Truth Hurts hitmaker, who even shared videos of her "jury duty fit" and a photo of her posing in front of the courthouse, however, could not be called for jury duty.

Though no official statement was released over her dismissal, Lizzo is now among the many celebrities who end up getting dismissed during jury selection as their fame might influence the case or other jurors.

The About Damn Time singer’s unfortunate dismissal comes a day after she revealed a personal “Grammy virginity” promise in which she revealed that she waited until her 30s to lose her virginity.

I promised myself when I was younger that I wouldn't have sex until I won a Grammy," Lizzo shared the reason at the episode of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast.
