The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recalled milk sold at convenience stores in four states is being recalled amid increasing concerns regarding potential plastic contamination.

The recall affected 16-ounce plastic bottles of Wawa milk sold in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

According to Eating Well, the issue was found after "foreign plastic material" was discovered on the production line.

The affected lot includes:

  • Wawa Cookies & Cream Milk (UPC: 0072619015158)
  • Wawa Chocolate Low-fat Milk (UPC: 00726191014908)
  • Wawa Double Dutch Chocolate Milk (UPC: 007261910)

Notably, the recall has been classified as Class II, suggesting that drinking the may pose a temporary health affect, as per FDA.
