Kate Middleton is seemingly pleased with the idea of Prince Harry’s reconciliation with King Charles and her husband, Prince William.
However, welcoming Meghan Markle and her two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the United Kingdom has given her anxiety to the core.
His Majesty has been offering the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to stay at the royal estate with his children during their upcoming visit to London.
Why Kate Middleton unpleased with Meghan Markle's return to UK?
The future King and Queen seem unhappy with the monarch’s decision, and sources said that the royal couple is feeling “stressed and conflicted”, to say the least, over the “chaos” that threatens to ensue.
“Kate is an incredibly forgiving person, but there has been so much hurt stirred up over the years by Meghan, it’s impossible for her to simply forget everything and move on overnight,” the insider revealed.
Furthermore, the tipster added, “Kate does want to see Harry, and she wants to do whatever she can to help the King, but there’s no denying that having Meghan there makes things worlds more complicated for her.”
According to the sources, Catherine has always wanted the Duke of Sussex to improve his relationship with William and Charles, but Meghan’s involvement changed her narrative completely.
Harry and Meghan rift with William and Kate
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been estranged from the British Royal Family since they stepped down from their senior working roles in 2020 and moved to Montecito, United States of America, alongside their kids.
Apart from the 78-year-old British monarch, no one from the royal family clan has ever met Harry and Meghan’s kids, and this upcoming visit will mark their first meeting with their cancer-stricken grandfather.
Speaking of the escalating rift, the insider said, “William is so against the whole idea, and Kate can’t simply ignore his feelings.”
“She understands why Charles is pushing for reconciliation, and she genuinely believes Harry should have this chance, but it’s still hard to stomach the idea of having to play nice with Meghan,” the source remarked.
Meanwhile, other reports have also speculated how Kate may be feeling about the prospect of coming face-to-face with Meghan for the first time, given that until earlier this week, it had been widely reported that the Montecito-based Duchess had no desire to ever set foot on UK soil again.

For those unaware, the Prince and Princess of Wales are not on speaking terms with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after the youngest son of His Majesty accused his elder brother of physically assaulting him over his disapproval of his relationship with Meghan; the distance between Kate and Meghan has also been widely reported.

As of now, neither Prince William, who is next heir to the British throne, nor Kate Middleton have publicly responded to the return of Harry and Meghan in London.
The Sussexes are expected to travel to London in July to attend the upcoming one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games.
