Kiran Rao has finally unveiled the trailer for Laapataa Ladies, which has launched a generous hoot of excitement as this is her second directorial venture after a gap of over ten years with Dhobi Ghat.
âGhunghat uth chuke hain!â Rao hilariously announced on Instagram.
Through the video, it can be discerned that the story revolves in rural India, where two young brides end up switching places on a train ride by some unfortunate twist of fate. This is actually where the respective journeys of these two characters begin.
Some beautiful shots of the village are witnessed, as well as jokes floating on cultural references and delightful confusions that Bollywood hasnât included in scripts before.
The genre of this movie is possibly âdramedy,â and its mighty catch is that itâs set in 2001, so cinema fanatics are looped in to see how good of a job the crew has done in transporting actors Pratibha Ranta, Nitanshi Goel, and Sparsh Shrivastav back to that year.
Another appealing fact is that the film has been produced by Aamir Khan, who is Kiranâs ex-husband. Even after their divorce in 2021, the duo remains working closely as professionals.
