Aamir Khan has told fans what to expect from his upcoming flick, Sitaare Zameen Par, a supposed sequel to his hit Taare Zameen Par.
He was recently present at IIM Bengaluru for the screening of Laapataa Ladies, where a media interaction was held toward the end.
Addressing queries about his latest venture, the actor said that it is a proper sequel to his 2007 directorial, Taare Zameen Par.
While the actors, their characters, and the storyline has completely changed, the core theme of the first part will stay intact.
As per Indian Express, Aamir remarked that there’s however a huge shift in the emotional tone. Instead of making people tearful this time, they’re aiming to crack hearts with laughter.
Moving on to the picture’s shooting schedule, he said, “I began shooting last week. We aim for a Christmas release this year. Let's hope it comes by Christmas.”
Earlier, Pinkvilla reported that the star has joined hands with director Prasanna Venkatesan for a production named Sitaare Zameen Par.
It wasn’t known whether it was related to Taare Zameen Par at the time.
The media portal also informed that Genelia D’Souze has been finalized as the female lead, although we don’t know whether Darsheel Safary has been approached yet.
