Shakira has made her first album announcement after a hiatus of seven years.
The record will be released on March 22, 2024 in partnership with Sony Latin under the name Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, which translates to ‘Women No Longer Cry.’
It has four distinct cover photos, each featuring shots of the singer taken from different angles.
Moving to its track list, the album will have 16 songs, all written in Spanish language.
Eight of these are new tracks, one is a remix, and the remaining seven are formerly released singles: El Jefe, Out of Your League, Te Felicito, Acróstico, Copa Vacía, Bzrp Music Sessions (Vol. 53), and TQG.
Shakira took this exciting news to her Instagram followers with an ocean-deep note.
She wrote, “My new album, coming out March 22, is one I created together with all of you, my pack of shewolves who were there for me every step of the way.”
“Making this body of work has been an alchemical process. While writing each song I was rebuilding myself. While singing them, my tears transformed into diamonds, and my vulnerability into strength,” the vocalist added.
In these past years, she has faced major hardships in life, including a tax fraud law suit and divorce from her spouse of 12-years, Gerard Piqué.
