Rituraj Singh, who became immensely popular with his role Yashpal in Anupama breathed his last on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
As reported by the Hindustan Times and many other Indian outlets, Rituraj’s close friend Amit Behl confirmed the tragic death of the actor in a statement he gave to PTI.
Behl told the outlet, “He had been hospitalised due to some stomach issues and was discharged a few days ago. He passed away around 12.30 am at his home due to a cardiac arrest.”
Soon after the tragic news of Rituraj’s death made it to the headlines, his mates from the film fraternity including the likes of Arshad Warsi, Hansal Mehta and Vivek Agnihotri took to their respective X accounts to share their condolences.
Warsi wrote, "I am so saddened to know that Ritu Raj passed away. We lived in the same building; he was a part of my first film as a producer. Lost a friend and a great actor… will miss you brother…"
While Vivek Agnihotri also penned a touching note for Rituraj alongside a photo, "Rituraj, my friend, how did you make it even possible? 'Kitna baaki tha… (so much was left).' Artists never die. Om Shanti."
On the other hand, Hansal Mehta on his X account penned a touching note, "Rituraj!!!! Can’t believe this! I directed him briefly in a daily soap called K Street Pali Hill but in the process we became good friends."
He added, "Been a while since we hung out but I have such fond memories. Untapped actor and a warm human. Gone suddenly and too early."
