Renowned Pakistani singer Aima Baig, who rose to the new heights of fame with her mesmerizing singing skills and hit songs, including Kaif O Surror, Aey Zindagi, Qalabaz Dil, Baazi, Befikariyaan, and Mast Malang revealed the reason of breaking up with fiancé Shahbaz Shigri.
During her appearance at Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast, Excuse Me!, Aima spilled the reason of parting ways with Shahbaz Shigri, whom she got engaged to in 2021.
“There were a lot of things already going on between us which people do not know. I also don’t want to get into the details of it,” told the 28-year-old singer to Ahmed in response to a question about what went between the former couple before they called it quits.
She went on to explain, “We had amazing families who used to understand us, there were not the problems between them but there were other things going on between us, so, It was our mutual decision but it was mainly my decision. I thought that we should not go for it now, however, I think that the decision flipped in the wrong way.”
Aima Baig, who also became the target of internet trolls at that time, also addressed how she dealt with the backlash and online hate.
“Yes I had been through a lot and my family acted as a support system for me, my brother and sister used to hide the social media trolling from me, but I knew what was happening, I also had the mobile phone,” she revealed.
Aima also admitted that when all these things were happening in her life, she was having suicidal thoughts.
