Bobby Deol has reignited the hero vs. villain argument by expressing that he was wearing a hero’s badge instead of feeling like a negative character while playing Abrar in Animal.
As per Indian Express, the actor told reporters, “When I played Abrar, I didn’t think of myself as villain, I felt as the hero of my family.”
“He had a very strong reason why he was like that. It gives you the opportunity to let that bad out, and perform and enjoy those negative characters,” he further reflected.
Bobby then went ahead to connect this explanation with how cinema has stopped focusing on the good and bad in people.
According to him, it’s only concerned with telling stories today.
The celebrity said, “There’s nothing like negative or positive characters. Earlier there used to be a certain category like comedians, villains, and heroes… it’s not like that anymore. Cinema has changed, storytelling has changed.”
“For me, playing a negative role was a challenge but every human being has a bad thing in them, only when you suppress the bad, we become a better person,” he finished.
Surprising the audience with his improved acting skills in Animal, Bobby has been nominated in the Best Villain category for his performance.
While fans agree that Bollywood’s narration method has changed to a certain degree, they don’t reciprocate the view that roles are no longer split into negative or positive.
