India is set to host one of the biggest weddings in history as business tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant Ambani gets ready to marry Radhika Merchant in what is sure to be a spectacle.
As the Ambani family, the richest in Asia, gears up for Radhika and Anant’s pre-wedding festivities in Jamnagar, Gujarat, in India, some of the world’s most distinguished and richest people have arrived to attend the grand celebrations.
According to Reuters, some 1,200 guests are expected to attend the three-day bash, with a distinguished guest list that boasts names like billionaire singer Rihanna, who will perform, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, as well as mega Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
While Zuckerberg arrived in Jamnagar on Thursday, Gates is understood to have landed in India earlier. Other global giants expected to attend include Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, BlackRock co-founder Larry Fink, Disney CEO Bob Iger, and Ivanka Trump.
Ambani’s fellow Indian billionaires, including Gautam Adani and Kumar Mangalam Birla, are also on the guest list.
From the entertainment industries, several Bollywood stars have been spotted arriving in Jamnagar, including Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Ajay Devgn among others.
Cricket stars, from India and beyond, are also in Jamnagar to attend the festivities; Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Dwayne Bravo, and others have all been spotted.
As per Bloomberg, “The guest list appears to have more RSVPs from global corporate titans than the weddings of Mr Ambani's two older children in 2018 and 2019, underscoring Reliance's growing clout and role as a conduit to the Indian economy for global tech, media and energy giants.”
It is pertinent to note that the extravagant wedding bash is a staple of Ambani family weddings; Mukesh Ambani, the world’s 10th richest man, also threw massive weddings for his two older children, son Akash Ambani, and daughter Isha Ambani; Beyonce famously performed at Isha’s wedding bash.
