Karisma Kapoor has disclosed what was so compelling about Murder Mubarak that she chose to make a big screen comeback after over a decade.

The star was recently invited by media portal Pinkvilla for an interview alongside other cast members and director Homi Adajania, where her career prospects were discussed.

Giving away details about the personality of her on-screen character, she said, “I don't think I played such a whacky eccentric person ever, and I think Homi knows that space and genre.”

“At the same time, he is very organic, so I think that for me was very interesting. And of course, this stellar, talented cast. After Hum Saath Saath Hain, I think this has been my big ensemble film,” the actress smiled.

On the other hand, Homi himself was soaking in admiration of her.

The filmmaker expressed, “When I went through all these and I suddenly saw Lolo's pictures, I was like 'Oh my God!’ ”

“I didn't think of her because she is so selective, beyond selective. I was like she would be perfect as Shehnaaz Noorani,” he acknowledged.

Karisma was last seen playing a proper role in the 2012 thriller, Dangerous Ishhq. After that, she made two momentous cameos in Bombay Talkies and Zero.

In between this huge cinematic gap, she was however seen in Mentalhood along with a few reality shows, and so wasn’t entirely missing from productions.

Moving on to Murder Mubarak, it is a Netflix feature that released today, on March 15, and is a scene-by-scene uncredited remake of Knives Out.
