Barack Obama, the former US president, waved to the media but kept quiet as he entered 10 Downing Street for talks with UK PM Rishi Sunak during a trip to London on Monday, March 18.

During their one-hour conversation, the two are said to have covered a wide range of topics, including artificial intelligence—one of the prime minister's favorite themes.

Obama, who was succeeded by Donald Trump after serving two terms as President from 2009 to 2017, was in London for work related to his Obama Foundation, which is in charge of a scholarship program and other projects.

According to the official spokesperson for Sunak, Obama had made "an informal courtesy drop-in as part of his trip to London."

He continued: “I think President Obama’s team made contact and obviously the prime minister was very happy to meet with him and discuss the work of the Obama Foundation.”

Obama previously visited Downing Street, when David Cameron was the UK PM, back in April 2016.
