Akshay Kumar recently opened up about the most difficult stunt he has performed to date, then called himself “crazy” for doing it.
The actor was present at Bade Miyan Chota Miyan’s trailer launch, where he revealed of having been tasked to stand on top of a moving plane before jumping onto an air balloon for saving the movie’s heroine.
He recalled, “Biggest action sequence I have done in my life was when I had to stand on a plane. I had to catch a running plane while it was on the runway.”
“I had to catch it, climb and stand on top of it, and then jump onto a hot-air balloon. It was madness. I was mad. I was crazy. I tried to test God and thankfully I was safe. There were 70% chances that I wouldn’t survive,” Akshay added.
This film in particular was Khiladi 420, and the said scene is counted among the most difficult ones pulled off in Bollywood without using any kind of VFX, body doubles, or support cables.
In one shot, the star was seen standing on the top of the airplane as it swirled around in the sky while Mukesh Rishi and Mahima Chaudhry realistically gasped in the balloon.
“It was that difficult and I would never do it again. Now I have become a bit sane. I think ten times before attempting something like this,” Akshay assured.
Other notable dangerous action sequences are train chase in Dhoom 2, underwater shot in Bang Bang!, bike stunt in Kick, and the helicopter scene in Sooryavanshi.
