Tamil actor Daniel Balaji breathed his last on Friday in Chennai following a cardiac arrest.

Balaji succumbed to a heart attack at a hospital in Kottivakam, where he was admitted after complaining of a certain discomfort in his chest, Indian media reported.

Director Mohan Raja took to his social media handle and shared the pain with his ardent lovers.

“Such a Sad news. He Was an inspiration for me to join film institute. A very good friend. Miss working with him. May his soul rest in peace," said Raja.

According to Polimer News, directors Vetrimaaran and Gautham Vasudev Menon reached the hospital after hearing the news of Balaji's sudden passing. 

Balaji's last rites are yet to be performed and he will be laid to rest in Purasaiwalkam on Saturday.

Die-hard fans and followers of the bereaved are pouring heartfelt tributes in remembrance of him and extending condolences to his family.

It is pertinent to know that Balaji has contributed a lot on the small screen and to the South Indian industry as a whole. He earned massive acclaim for his stellar performance in the series Chitthi.

Daniel Balaji was surely an ace actor, who managed to gain quite a name over the course of his career in films like Kaakha Kaakha, Polladhavan, Vettaiyadu Vilayaadu, and Vada Chennai.
