Varun Dhawan had sneakily shot for the incredibly famous ‘Swami-Haraami’ line from his 2014 movie, Main Tera Hero, after father David Dhawan removed it from the script.
In celebration of the picture clocking in ten full years, writer Milap Zaveri uploaded a post on his Instagram profile, informing followers of how that hit dialogue made it to the final cut.
He wrote, “Varun absolutely MINDBLOWING as Seenu! What a fantastic performance he gave. And I must give him credit for ensuring the “Swami-Haraami” line stayed in the film.”
“Yes! David sir had edited it out at script level to reduce the length of the scene, but Varun called me a night before shoot and asked me to message the line to him,” the penman added.
Following this, the actor memorized the text overnight, then quickly filmed for the scene when his dad wasn’t anywhere around.
Zaveri mentioned, “Next day, he said it in the shot without David sir’s knowledge, and the rest became history!”
Indeed, this hilarious dialogue has traveled a long way since then. It continues being used by many Indians and Pakistanis on various platforms online, especially TikTok.
