Yumna Zaidi’s role in the forthcoming Pakistani drama, Gentleman, has been introduced through its recently released second teaser.
The actor is playing a haughty news reporter called Zarnab, who is stamped with a never-ending ‘my way or highway’ attitude.
Such is her control that even the show she anchors is named ‘Zarnab’ in bold capitals.
But Yumna’s entirely personal on-screen footing is to chase down co-star Humayun Saeed’s character, Iqbal Munna.
At one point, she could be heard referring to him as “Munna Bhai” – the cues for which have probably not been taken from Rajkumar Hirani’s 2003 megahit, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.
While the first promotional trailer tried a shot at comedy, the next one has been presented with a serious take on the series’ story, although one thing is common in both: herogiri.
Both Yumna and Humayun were observed shooting down one heroic dialogue after another, as if they just walked out of a Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan’s movie script, where only a round of six-packs was missing from the picture.
With such similarities between their characters, they’re obviously destined for love.
Fans anyhow are busy noting the age and acting differences between both the lead stars since these are plainly unneglectable.
