We fought hard’: Doctor who tried to save Princess Diana’s life after horrific car crash'

Dr MonSef Dahman was a general surgeon at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital who treated late Princess Diana after horrific car accident. He appeared in an interview with Daily Mail and shared how he along with the night staff fought hard to save her.

The 56-year-old shared, “For any doctor, any surgeon, it is of very great importance to be faced with such a young woman who is in this condition. But of course even more so if she is a princess.”

The doctor revealed Diana was treated by best heart surgeons of France, Professor Alain Paive.

He went on. “We fought hard, we tried a lot, really an awful lot. We could not save her. And that affected us very much.”

Dr Dahman then disclosed that the team pronounced her dead at 4:00am.

The doctor stated, "The thought that you have lost an important person for whom you cared, marks you all your life.”

He added, "When it's a princess and you follow her funeral along with billions of other people, and you had tried to save her, that obviously marks you. It marks you all your life. Because it's so terrible that this beautiful person had such a tragic end.”
