Lionel Messi has become the first player in history to record 1200 goal contributions in official matches.

The Inter Miami's star made it possible by scoring a goal and hitting five assists against New York Red Bulls on Sunday.

Messi is often called the best soccer player ever. With a record eight Ballon d’Ors to his name, countless club records, and a World Cup under his belt.

8 time ballon d'or winner started his journey when he was just 16 years old. Since then, he's amazed fans all over the world.

In 2008/09, Messi played a crucial role in his team's success, contributing to their victory in three major competitions. 

He scored an impressive 38 goals and provided 19 assists during that season. 

Meanwhile, Messi's outstanding performance not only helped his team win trophies but also earned him his first Ballon d'Or award.

Moreover, his best year was 2012, when he set a new global record by scoring 91 goals for both his club and country. 

From the 2009/10 season until 2018/19, Messi consistently scored at least 40 goals each season for Barcelona.

After leaving Barcelona in 2021 due to the club's financial issues, Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain from 2021 to 2023.

Since 2023, he has been showcasing his talent with Inter Miami.
