Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Gelendzhik Palace on the Black Sea coast has been renovated to include a church equipped with a throne.
As per an investigative report published on Monday by the Russian outlet Proekt, Putin's luxury residences near Sochi, southern Russia, were refashioned.
After the new additions in the palace, it seems that the President is ‘obsessed with war and religion.
According to Newsweek, the Proekt said that the residence has been renovated to include a home church featuring a triptych and a wooden throne. The walls of the rooms are decorated with crosses.
Moreover, two art historians and an iconic painter noted that the triptych appeared to depict a ‘saint, Prince Vladimir.’
The outlet added, “By the way, back in the Middle Ages in (Russia), there was a tradition of painting patronal icons for rulers, which over time began to be placed in the Annunciation Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin. Putin traditionally visits this place after his inauguration.”
Proket also noted that the wooden throne in the church is either for a high-ranking church hierarchy or depicts that the owner has a ‘fairly high idea of himself and his importance.’
The head of the investigation, Maria Pevchikh, claimed on May 6, “Putin is obsessed with his own security. Putin does not use other people's dishes. Doesn't go without an army of guards. Do not go to the toilet in public places. By publishing footage from inside his palace and floor plans, we make it impossible to use the palace."
Pevchikh further added, “We have once again shown not only that he is a luxury-obsessed psychopath but also that his security system is complete crap.”
