Paul McCartney roasted Bruce Springsteen at the 2024 Ivor Novello Awards in London on Thursday.
Bruce received a prestigious songwriting honor at the award ceremony.
As captured in a viral clip, Paul poked fun at Bruce while introducing him, "He's known as being the American working man, but he admits he’s never worked a day in his life. It's true.”
He joked, “Except maybe Bob Dylan... Or Paul Simon, or Billy Joel, or Beyoncé, or Taylor Swift. The list goes on.”
Later on, he presented the award to the Dancing in the Dark singer while the crowd chanted "Bruce."
"I'm going to sound really weird up here because I sang in the rain all night last night," Bruce said on stage.
"We came out last night, and I was like, 'What is this weather? Driving rain, wind roaring,” he continued, "But standing in front of me, in the rain, I realized: These are my people."
For the unversed, the honor received by Bruce is the highest the Ivors Academy bestows. It has previously been awarded to famous artists such as Adele, Sting, Amy Winehouse, John Lennon, Kate Bush, and McCartney himself.
