Charlie Puth shared about his heartwarming feelings when he got to know that Taylor Swift has mentioned his name in her new album, The Tortured Poets Department.

During an interview with Rolling Stone on Friday, May 24, Charlie recalled that he was having lunch when one of his friends, who had heard a leaked copy of Taylor Swift's new album, TTPD, told him that Taylor has mentioned his name in one of the songs.

“My brain immediately went to ‘Oh, like in an interview or something. That’s cool. I love Taylor Swift,” he told the outlet.

Next, the We Don’t Talk Anymore singer thought the lyrics, “You smokеd, then ate seven bars of chocolate/We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist,” were generated by artificial intelligence.

Charlie further recalled, “I’m going to wake up tomorrow and it was just a big joke that someone was playing on me because someone thinks I shouldn’t be a bigger artist, so get the biggest artist since the Beatles to say that I should be a bigger artist. Hahaha.”

Charlie went on to express his feeling when he got to know that his name is actually in the album’s title track.

The Attention crooner noted, “My first thought was like, ‘Wow. She said my name.’ She kind of said it like P-O-O-T-H, and I just cried, dude.”

Prior to the interview, Charlie Puth has also given credit of his new song Hero to the Fortnight singer in his recent Instagram post.

On the unversed, Hero was released on Friday May 24, 2024.

Taylor Swift’s eleventh studio album The Tortured Poets Department released on April 19, 2024.
