Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season has come to an end as the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won their third title.
Shah Rukh Khan’s KKR won the title after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 8 wickets on Sunday, May 26, at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
According to Times of India, the total prize pool for the IPL 2024 edition was INR 465 million (est $5,595,136) distributed among winners, runners-up, and other top-performing teams and individuals.
KKR got a whopping amount of INR 200 million, while the runners-up SRH got awarded INR 130 million for their performance throughout the tournament.
The Rajasthan Royals, who ended up in third position, got INR 70 million, and the fourth place, Royal Challengers Bengaluru also received notable prize money of INR 65 million for their achievement.
Among the top performers, orange cap winner, Virat Kohli, 741 runs, and purple cap winner Harshal Patel, 24 wickets, got INR 1.5 million for their commendable performances.
Nitish Kumar Reddy was awarded with INR 2 million as he was declared as player of the match.
Other top performers of the season were Travis Head, who hit 64 fours, Abhishek Sharma hit 42 sixes, Ramandeep Singh caught the catch of the season while the striker of the season was Jake Fraser-McGurk (234.04).
