Elizabeth MacRae took her last breath in North Carolina on May 27.

The veteran star, who was famous in the 1970s for her roles in Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C and General Hospital, passed away at 88.

She also starred in Another World, Days of Our Lives, Guiding Light, and Search for Tomorrow.

As reported by the City View, Elizabeth “had a wonderful life.”

Her nephew, Jim McRae, told the media outlet that “She was bright and articulate. She was still getting fan mail at Highland House.”

Mayon Weeks, who introduced MacRae into the Fayetteville Performing Arts Hall of Fame, shared, “She did ‘light up the room’ when she was present, and that theatrical presence was in full bloom when she starred in the play, Picnic, at Cape Fear Regional Theatre.”

He added, “Elizabeth had the ‘X factor’ that is an important part of being a performer. A warm and delightful person to be with, and an engaging performer in film and on stage. A treasured daughter of our Fayetteville community.”

For the unversed, Elizabeth has survived five stepchildren, Terry Halsey, Peter Halsey, Hugh Halsey, Cate Halsey, and Alex Halsey Topper.
