FBI has confirmed that a bullet struck former President Donald Trump's ear during a recent assassination attempt.

As per the reports, the director said, in a statement, “What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle.”

The statement was made two days after House legislators were informed by FBI Director Christopher Wray that "there's some question about whether or not it's a bullet or shrapnel that, you know, hit his ear."

Trump and other Republican lawmakers strongly objected to the director's statements made in front of a House committee.

In a message on social media on Friday night, Trump made reference to the recent FBI statement.

He wrote on Truth Social, "I assume that’s the best apology that we’ll get from Director Wray, but it is fully accepted!.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson also stepped forward to slam Wray’s testimony, saying, “We’ve all seen the video, we’ve seen the analysis, we’ve heard it from multiple sources in different angles that a bullet went through his ear. I’m not sure it matters that much.”

To note, regarding the FBI's ongoing investigation into the attempted assassination, Wray had testified.

Thomas Crooks, a 20-year-old gunman, opened fire from an elevated post near Trump's July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, leaving one attendee dead and two gravely injured. Crooks was shot and died.
