King Charles, Princess Diana’s marriage invitation gets auctioned

Princess Diana’s handwritten letters up for sale

Princess Diana had written some letters to her dear housekeeper Violet Collison, and now these are up for auction.

As reported by Azernews, the butler had been nicknamed “Collie” by King Charles’ former wife and had worked at her mother’s Park House in Sandringham Estate.

Princess Diana had sent various Christmas Cards to Violet Collison between 1981 and 1994, making an entire collection out of them.

One card was an invitation to her marriage with King Charles in 1981, and it shall be sold away to a worthy bidder as well!

The wedding letter itself is a holiday card, too, featuring a portrait of Your Majesty with Princess Diana that was freshly taken in the very same year.

“Best wishes for Christmas and New Year,” the greeting read with signatures from the ex-couple.

In the end sat the signature of King Charles’ ex-wife.

An interesting bit to note is that after divorcing the Monarch in 1996, Christmas cards sent by Princess Diana only included pictures of her next to sons Prince William and Prince Harry.

The last of these said, “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 1994. With love from Diana.”

All of these letters will be up at Sworders Fine Art Auctioneers with their cost ranging from 200 too 1200 pounds.
