The US basketball team beats South Sudan on Thursday, August 1, to qualify for the Paris Olympic quarterfinals.

According to Associated Press, the US defeated South Sudan by 103-86. During the first half of the match, Bam Adebayo scored 18 and Kevin Durant scored 14 points. Later, Anthony Edwards and LeBron James added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Meanwhile, for South Sudan, Nuni Omot scored 12, Carlik Jones 18 and Bul Kuol added 16 points.

US coach Steve Kerr said, “We have an embarrassment of riches on this roster; that's the best way to put it. I mean, these guys are all champions, All-Stars, Hall of Famers, however, you want to put it. So the whole thing is, are we committed to the goal? That's it. That's it."

Adebayo expressed, “I just think Steve trusts us. I feel like he looks at the benches, that spark, to come off the bench and really give us a boost, and we did that tonight. We’ve been calling ourselves the bench mob for a long time now. And it doesn’t matter who’s in the lineup. We always seem to figure it out."

Moreover, after this win, Team US, who has topped Group C, has confirmed its berth in the quarterfinals with Canada, France, and Germany.
