Prince Harry has come under fire for making a 'tasteless' remark about Queen Elizabeth, sparking controversy at the Palace.
According to sources, the Duke of Sussex's declaration that his late grandmother had supported his legal battles against the British press left courtiers "distinctly unimpressed".
However, he asserted in a recent ITV documentary titled Tabloids on Trial that she was completely in support of his multiple legal challenges prior to her passing at Balmoral Castle in September 2022.
The Duke of Sussex explained, "She knew how much this meant to me and she's very much up there saying 'see this through to the end'."
One courtier told The Mail they were "unhappy" with Harry's "tasteless" attempt to claim his grandmother's support in his continuing "crusade".
The remarks have sparked conversation among courtiers at the Palace, according to Richard Eden, the Daily Mail's diary editor.
In his column, he stated "One courtier I spoke to this week was far from happy with Harry's 'tasteless' attempt to claim his grandmother's support in his continuing 'crusade.’”
Eden mentioned, "As he told me: 'There is something distinctly 'off' about it. We'll never know what was said between grandson and grandmother. What we do know is that we will only ever know one side of the story.'"
