Sarah Ferguson shared important health update as she opened up about her double cancer diagnosis.

The Duchess of York was diagnosed with malignant melanoma (a form of skin cancer) in January 2024, nearly a year after her breast cancer.

As per Sarah, her second cancer diagnosis was no less than a "death sentence" for the duchess.

The mother-of-two, who is now on a mission to spread awareness among public about the fatal disease and encourage them to never skip their routine check ups has opened up about her own journey amid two cancers.

"I had almost missed the appointment as I couldn't face a journey into central London on a hot summer's day and thought I would put it off," Sarah exclusively shared with the Sun.

She went on to share, "It was only when I mentioned this by chance to my sister Jane, who had called me from her home in Australia, that she went into bossy older sibling mode and insisted I went. That check-up, and the treatment I underwent, saved my life."

While updating about her health, she mentioned that although her treatment appears victorious, her doctors cannot claim that she is cancer free.

"I've made peace with the reality that regular health screenings will be part of my life from now on I'm now on a mission to use my journey to highlight awareness," Sarah noted.

Alongside, Sarah Ferguson, King Charles and Kate Middleton were also diagnosed with cancer, at beginning of this year.
