Pakistani actress and model Armeena Rana Khan recently made her comeback on the TV screens with drama serial Mohabbatain Chahatain.
The actress skillfully played the role of an antagonist in the serial and also received praise for her performance.
After the last episode of the drama aired on Friday, the Janaan actress took to her Instagram handle and shared a behind-the-scenes video (BTS) from the sets of the serial to highlight the importance of mental health issues.
For the unversed, Khan’s character Tara in Mohabbatain Chahatain commits suicide in the last episode. Khan has shared a video message which, she recorded six months ago after shooting the suicide scene.
In the video, she began, “Hi guys, today is October 17. I’ve filmed an incredibly difficult scene where my character commits suicide. Now I wish to make a few points very quickly. Firstly, you are not alone if you’re suffering. I don’t want you to suffer, I need you to seek professional help.”
Crying from the scene she performed, she continued saying, “Secondly, women should not pit women against each other. What’s yours is yours, what’s mine is mine. We should not go after each other’s destinies. We should support each other.”
She reinstated that suicide is never the answer of problems and said, “We know how everyone is fighting their own demons. Unfortunately my character fails to overcome hers. But this is not the way. If you’re suffering please know that you’re not alone and you must seek professional help.”
She concluded her message by providing a disclaimer for her viewers and fans to not take any inspiration from her character. “Please stay safe and do not take any of this seriously, because ultimately it is just a TV drama.”
Along with the video, the Bin Roye actress posted a lengthy caption in which, she stressed everyone o seek professional help for mental stress and negative thoughts. “I tried my BEST to convey it. If I have failed, forgive me, I will try to do better. And if I have done justice, then thank you from the bottom of my heart because I have played this role with my SOUL,” she wrote.
Besides Khan, serial Mohabbatain Chahatain featured actors Hira Mani and Junaid Khan in key roles.
