Jamie Foxx is on the mend after a birthday celebration turned chaotic when a glass was thrown at him during dinner.
According to TMZ, the incident occurred after the Django Unchained involved in an altercation at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Friday, December 13.
A spokesperson for Foxx told PEOPLE that the actor was hit with a glass during the birthday celebration.
“Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth," the spokesperson said.
They added, "He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.”
The outlet initially reported that police were called to the restaurant around 10 p.m. local time regarding an alleged fight inside.
Foxx's name was allegedly included in an official report concerning the assault, though he was not at the scene upon authorities' arrival.
The Ray star was alongside his daughters Corinne and Anelise, as well as ex Kristin Grannis.
To note,the incident happened after Foxx celebrated the release of his Netflix special, which is based on his medical emergency that started on April 11, 2023, and the complications that followed.
