Internet slams Sheheryar Munawar, Mansha Pasha for violating COVID-19 SOPs

Pakistanis have been quite active on social media when it comes to raise voice or form a collective opinion about any issue.

Recently, the nation stood united to support the neighbor country India amid its worst COVID-19 crisis. Other than this, many prominent celebrities were actively calling out the government to cancel the O and A levels exams amid the pandemic.

However, Pakistani actor Fahad Mirza’s 40th birthday celebration and star-studded Qawwali night was a huge violation of COVID-19 SOPs.

The Twitter users were quick to notice the Pakistani showbiz stars, who first campaigned for the cancellation of exams were appearing in pictures of such gathering.

Netizens were angry to call out actors Shehryar Munawar and Mansha Pasha for their contradictory statements.

The Laal Kabootar actress has been tweeting in support of her husband and activist Jibran Nasir, who was leading the campaign against the cancellation of exams, had lauded her husband in a tweet and said, "I am super proud of my husband in his effort to support students at this difficult time and would like to request everyone to do so as well. Forcing them to sit for exams in such an uncertain time is cruelty, to say the least."

Similarly, the Ho Mann Jahan actor also had shared his opinion on the rising coronavirus cases in the country and requested people to follow the SOPs.

But the pictures from Mirza’s birthday party, where the two actors were seen in gathering, social media called out their double standards and criticized them for preaching something they do not practice.

However, Munawar has issued an apology for his negligence, after being heavily criticized. He took to his Instaram to apologize over the matter. “I apologize for my ignorance, lapse in judgement and lack of better sense,” shared the actor.

He further added, “A big thank you to my social media family for keeping my moral compass in check. We owe eachother as much.”
