Michael Jackson accuser James opens up on ‘painful’ abuse after becoming dad

James Safechuck, who has accused Michael Jackson of sexually abusing him at age 10, has reflected on the “painful” memories after welcoming his children.

In a new interview with The Times, published on Friday, March 7, the 47-year-old American actor opened up about his childhood traumas when he was raped by the late legendary American singer.

During the interview, Safechuck also reflected on processing the pain of the alleged events after he became a father.

The actor shared that when his wife gave birth to their first kid back in 2010, he struggled with a “breakdown.”

“There’s also the childhood brainwashing by your abuser. That you’re the bad one, that it’s all your fault, and the idea that if it gets out, your life is going to be over. So it was unexpected, to say the least, that people were being kind,” he told the outlet.

Safechuck continued, “Michael made you feel like you did it, that it was all your idea. Then you look at your own kid and for the first time you really realise, what? That just makes no sense.”

Along with James Safechuck, Australian dancer and choreographer, Wade Robson, 42, was also a rape victim of Michael Jackson.

The duo appeared in a 2019’s HBO bombshell documentary, Leaving Neverland, in which they opened up about the shocking allegations against the Smooth Criminal singer.

A sequel to the documentary, Leaving Neverland 2, is set to debut in the UK on Channel 4 on March 18, 2025.

The sequel will feature Safechuck and Robson’s “ongoing legal Battle” against Michael Jackson, which led them to face massive backlash from the late singer’s fanbase.
