Kareena Kapoor has always been Bollywood’s darling with her beauty and charm, which led many to link her up with many of her film co-stars. One name that was reiterated many a times was of Hrithik Roshan.
The rumors of their made-believe romance found its way to gossip columns every now and then back in the early 2000s. The rumours got intensified when the two came together in Karan Johar’s 2001 blockbuster film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Their onscreen chemistry was palpable and noticed by everyone. They continued working together in Yaadein (2001) and Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon (2003).
Hrithik was already married to Sussanne Khan when the rumors were surfacing. According to some reports, Hrithik’s family had to intervene to warn Bebo to stay away from him to keep his marriage from falling apart, while other reports stated that Kareena was ready to walk away from her career just to be with Hrithik.
However, during 2002 Filmfare interview, Kareena slammed these rumors and said, “I was more bothered that his marriage would be affected. For me, it was a professional hazard. First it was Hrithik, tomorrow it could be someone else. As long as I know the truth, I’m fine."
"The most shocking part about the articles linking me with Hrithik was the insinuation that I was willing to give up my career to run after him. Please! Not for a man, never!" Kareena added.
She also said that if her man ever askher to give up her career, she would "kick him in the butt and tell him to get lost".
