She ain't crying her eyes violet as Elizabeth Taylor music video shines bright despite backlash.
On Tuesday, March 31, Taylor Swift dropped the highly anticipated music video for the second track from her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
The song features a video montage of iconic glimpses of the late British and American actress Elizabeth Taylor, who serves as inspiration behind Swift's track.
However, the music video sparked fierce backlash against the 14-time Grammy winner, as fans were disappointed that Swift did not appear.
Just a day after Swift released the Elizabeth Taylor music video, Pop Base, in its official Instagram post on Wednesday, April 1, shared that the song has re-entered Spotify charts.
"#ElizabethTaylor by #TaylorSwift re-enters the Global Spotify chart at 115 with 1.47 million streams," shared the outlet.
They also noted, "It also re-enters the US Spotify chart at 37 with 602k streams."
The news once again sparked a wave of anger among social media users, who slammed Swift in the comments.
"flop," declared one, while another slammed, "Now why would anyone call that mess a music video."
A third criticized, "i love that we're calling entirely stealing someone else's visual artwork a 'music video.'"
"we needed a proper mv," demanded a fourth.
Taylor Swift released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on October 3, 2025.
