Katrina Kaif has expressed in an interview with Pinkvilla that she is interested in portraying a negative character.

The actor has been recently receiving praise for her role in Merry Christmas, which was significantly different from what she is used to playing.

Upon being asked about her future plans, she said, “In whatever films I have done, and will continue to do, I'll be true to myself. But also the person you are continuously changes, right? There are some things that are not necessarily connected to you, but are just your desires.”

“Like for me, I would really love to play a negative character, but someone who we know the reason for being that. You know, not just negative without reason, someone we know, this is the reason they become that way,” the Namastey London lead added.

In her two-decades-long career, Katrina has so far signed for a negative character once in Race. She played Sophia, who fakes her identity to loot money, then runs away.

That was the first time when her on-screen “goody sweet” image was broken, followed by an agent's role in Tiger Zinda Hai.

Now with Merry Christmas, the star has once again shattered some critical remarks made about her acting, so fans are naturally enticed to know what she signs next.
