A Russian military transport airplane with 15 people on board has crashed on Tuesday, after taking off from an airbase located in the Western region of the country.
As reported by AP, the official of the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the Il-76 aircraft crashed in the Ivanovo region, with eight crew and seven passengers on board.
However, it is still unknown if there were any survivors during the crash.
The military transport airplane crash came shortly after the Defense Ministry reported dozens of attacks on Russia by Ukrainian drones.
It was also revealed in the report that the four-engine Il-76 is an efficient and heavy-lift transport aircraft, which has been in service since the 1970s.
It was first used by the Soviet Army and then played a pivotal role in the defense of Russian air force.
