Mahira Khan has reported that everyone was rolling in tears on her big wedding day last year.
The star recently sat for an interview with Aamna Haider Isani, where she gave away clear-cut details from her mighty dramatic union with Salim Karim.
“There was not a dry eye in that wedding. Starting with Salim, Azlan, Amma, Appa, and myself. A friend of mine said we were ugly crying!” Mahira said.
She added, “But the best was when I saw the waiters! Even they were getting teary eyed, and I was like, ‘Yeh nahin ho sakta! Yeh kya ho raha hai?’ ”
Politely tearing away some more pages from this strictly confidential marriage diary, the actor revealed that even people who had no personal connection with her were jerking water from the eye.
“But everyone was (crying). The gora DJs who had come, even they were crying! Woh gore bhi ro rahe the! I am like, ‘What is happening!’ ” she continued.
According to Mahira, this was because the time was an “intimate moment of trust and letting go.”
But fans think these emotions had overcome everyone that day.
For over a decade, people have been witnessing her raining love on everyone around as a single mother.
She grew up on everyone’s television screens ever since debuting with Bol, then went on to become a smashingly haunting part of Pakistan with Shehr-e-Zaat, Ho Mann Jahaan, and other such productions during those salad days.
Watching her tie the knot was like bidding one’s own daughter adieu for many people across India and Pakistan.
“Ab aap ko yeh gila nahin hoga ke shaadi ho gayi Bin Roye,” a commentator joked.
