Parineeti Chopra has thanked Imtiaz Ali for giving her a chance to shine in their latest release, Amar Singh Chamkila, which is one such path-breaking movie that she had been desiring to do for years.
On April 13, the actress floated a note on her Instagram story after sharing various slides of incredibly emotional reviews surrounding the film’s acting, music, storyline, and other aspects.
She pensively wrote, “I am glad that I was able to make an impact with my work in Chamkila. This is something I’ve waited for years…”
“Thank you, Imtiaz Ali, for believing in my talent and giving me this opportunity,” Parineeti humbly extended her gratitude.

Following Ishaqzaade’s release in 2012, she and Arjun Kapoor were expected to become gigantic stars in Bollywood with audiences pinning their hopes on them instead of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra’s typical performances in Student of the Year.
But, soon enough, Arjun was simultaneously trolled for gaining weight as well as only choosing to do romcoms, although he had worked in Aurangzeb and Finding Fanny.
Parineeti, on the other hand, faced brutal criticism for her weight, too. And eventually faded away to work on her physique after 2014.
Upon returning to the industry, she was only offered lacklustre roles, such as that in Dishoom, Golmaal Again, Namaste England, and Kesari, which never truly used her acting potential.
By that time, people stopped looking at her as a serious actor and Bollywood’s love for movie-making also crashed.
Chamkila’s release however can finally change this attitude, settling the dust once and for all if more directors come her way.
